Five Pillars

pillarThere are five areas that support everyone’s life goals and search for meaning:
☼ Health ☼ Relationships ☼ Resources ☼ Responsibility, ☼ Creativity.
These are the pillars everyone needs to address. On top of these are built personal policies that define your integrity and values.

"You can find on the outside only what you possess on the inside." ~ Adolfo  Ballesteros

Building five strong pillars

Building five strong pillarsIt takes a good map, personal policies, to navigate the highway of life and know your destinations when you see them. It's easy to get stuck relying on what we are good at, even when we know there is much more.  With good policies in place across your pillars the entire true-you is revealed while goals happen naturally.  Breaking life down to its pieces helps zero in on your strengths, overcome weaknesses and position yourself for success.  Policies draw on proven wisdom to help you find a fluid balance and calm mental chatter while being true to the unique-you.

Resource Policies ask: How effectively do you build and manage your resources?
Health Policies ask: How well do you take care of your mind and body?
Relationship Policies ask: How well do you create & nurture your personal connections?
Responsibility Policies ask: How do you act, even when no one is looking?
Creativity Policies ask: Do you have creative outlets that you are passionate about?

Health Pillar

Health PillarBuilding a strong health pillar is critical to being able to develop and maintain all pillars.  As you will see the pillars are all interconnected, good mental and physical health is often a result of responsible decisions, good relationships, and creative use of resources.  By deciding to make the health pillar strong you’ve made a smart foundation decision that supports all your personal policies.

"You can never have too much health, friendship, love, wisdom or self-esteem." ~Aristotle

Relationship Pillar

Relationship Pillar

Having people to learn from, to give to, to share success and challenges with is the key to feeling alive, interconnected. The best policy to keep good relationships on track is the golden rule, do unto others as you would have done unto you.  This works great for people with strong self-esteem and self-love.  When we don’t love ourselves 100% all the time we sometimes treat others badly.  Learn the secrets to good relationships here.

"In a relationship you have to open yourself up." ~ Neil LaBute

Resources Pillar

Resources Pillar

Does a man on a desert island need money?  Does a single mother need coconuts?  Our resources needs are not as obvious as one may think.  Money is rarely the only answer to the resources question. Consumerism is driven by slick marketing we have all been brainwashed with since an early age. Examining your resources gives guidance on what goals will be important, sustainable and realistic.  Learn about resource management here.

"I can do something else besides stuff a ball through a hoop. My biggest resource is my mind."
~ Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Responsibility Pillar

Responsibility Pillar

The responsibility pillar goes beyond personal accountability, it affects those around you.  Your thoughts and actions influence family, friends, coworkers and even those you have never met.  Responsibility is a pillar we know intuitively what is right and what is selfish, but often don’t listen. Lack of good role models has driven many to rationalize behaviors focused on self-gain at the expense of others.  Discover how to become more responsible here.

"Most people do not really want freedom, because freedom involves responsibility, and most people are frightened of responsibility." ~Sigmund Freud
