Stress is the enemy

E-mail Print PDF

No matter how you slice or spin it, stress sucks.  I’m not talking about the ‘good’ stress that pushes you the extra mile.  It’s the social, physical and psychological stress that brings nothing to the party.  Stress has been shown to paralyze able-bodied people and bring disease to others.  The sad thing is that 99% of stress is self-imposed!  You always have a choice what to think about and how to respond to your feelings.

To be human is to be imperfect, to realize this is a big step to reducing stress in life.  We can’t always control what happens to us, but always have control over how we respond to it.  Learning to calm stressful feelings is smart living.  It boils down to one profound personal policy: Stress is the enemy. This policy says that if it is something you have no control over, don’t stress about it.  If it is something you do have control over make a decision to change something, stop doing it or just stop stressing about it.  Learning to use stress reduction tools and techniques to guide your thoughts into making this a habit will pay off on many ways now and forever.
Affirmations: This too shall pass. / Relax and release. / I’m OK.
