10 signals it’s time to make a change

E-mail Print PDF

When people are emotionally satisfied they tend to have a strong identity and will generally admit to being happy. Our identity is based on our emotional state.  Emotional state is almost always a result of past behaviors.  Too often we view emotions as dead-end feelings when they are actually doorways to discovering healthier behaviors that lead to a higher happier frame of mind. The ten trigger emotions to watch for are: regret, fear, hurt, anger, frustration, disappointment, guilt, inadequacy, overload and loneliness.

Each of these signals unmet needs in different areas, all are opportunities to figure out what’s missing.  Another signal that something is out of balance in life is when you find yourself complaining regularly.  Use these signals as triggers to ask what is really wrong and what can be changed? Instead of dwelling on an emotion or the situation that brought the feeling on, find a helpful idea or policy to make a change and get moving in the right direction again.

Affirmation: I feel good knowing i’m growing.
