What should I do? How should I get there? Who should I call for help? Questions are the seeds and decisions are the sun that pulls the true-you into action. Making good decisions is a habit all wise people share. There are lots of reasons we make bad decisions, and a few simple skills to making good ones.
Can someone become wise before his or her time? I think so. When studying wisdom it becomes obvious that there are several paths to becoming wise beyond experience. Want to do well at a job? Pick work that suits you then study the people successful in that field. Want to get healthy and loose weight? Learn from the ones who have done it. There are a million examples of how wisdom serves you in the here and now.
Some of the characteristics of wise people include:
☼ A wise person can discern the core of important problems.
☼ A wise person has self-knowledge, a knowingness of what works for them.
☼ A wise person is sincere and direct with others.
☼ Others ask wise people for advice, wise people ask back.
☼ A wise person's actions are consistent with his/her values/ethical beliefs.
Wisdom is a state of mind we should all reach for. Making a wise decision takes all the pieces and people into account. With wisdom on our side we task the power of the past to do the right thing in the presence of today then enjoy a lifetime of tomorrows.
“We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility for our future.” ~George Bernard Shaw
